    • Great Value for you Money

Great reliable vehicle. Has taken the family on multiple trips without a single problem. Handles great and pretty comfortable. I would definitley recommend this year's model to anyone looking for a great and reliable SUV that doesn't drain your wallet on gas usage. The only thing that I regret is not purchasing the model with the rear AC controls and vents. Living in Florida, it gets really hot and the opptional third row seating, stays warm for a long time.

Do not buy a Pathfinder made between 2005-2008. I have had nothing but trouble with mine and have seen many web-sites complaining of the same problems I have had. The major issue is the radiator cracking which lets coolant into the transmission which ruins the transmission. $6000 . Just found out I have to replace the catalytic converter. Quoted by dealership at $1750.

I bought my 2008 Pathfinder new in March 2009. At 80,000 miles I heard about the extended warranty due to radiator cracks causing transmission failures. I had the dealership pressure check the cooling system. When the radiator held pressure, I knew the transmission was fine so I had my mechanic replace the factory radiator with an after market. The only other things that have broken in 200,000 miles are: the heater blower motor, the air conditioning relay in the dashboard, both windshield sprayer nozzles, the factory in-dash radio, and all 4 tire pressure sensors (that was a bad design which they have changed on newer model years). Other than that, I have changed the oil (Mobile-1), put on tires and brakes, replaced the battery, and added gas. This has been the lowest maintenance cost I have ever had on a vehicle...with the highest mileage. This vehicle has been fantastic. It's reliable and just keeps going. Its styling is modern enough that it doesn't look old. I haven't had a car payment in 6 years and have no plans to get rid of it. The transmission still shifts like it's new. The seats aren't the most comfortable, so it's not the best vehicle for long trips. I once towed a Camaro (400lbs below max weight) for 200 miles without a problem. Since then, I tow 1500lbs regularly without issue (probably due to the fact that I always switch off the overdrive). I have definitely gotten my money's worth out of this vehicle.
